Blue Avocado Stringers are volunteer writers and listening posts who participate in the Blue Avocado community in several ways, including:

• Seeking out and submitting pieces to recurring features such as Word On The Street, Seen & Heard, and Take a 3 Minute Vacation Right Now
• Responding to RFSs (Requests For Stories) when we're working on a story but need the right angle or the right people to interview
• Serving as weather stations in the nonprofit sector and in community movements, spotting phenomena and trends that Blue Avocado should be reporting on
