Thanks to so many Blue Avocado readers for your notes letting us know that you're finding this magazine useful, refreshing and uniquely right for community organizations. And thanks, too, for your questions! Here are some ways to get the most out of Blue Avocado:

How do people read Blue Avocado? It's short enough to read over a cup of coffee or an avocado and bacon sandwich. Scroll through the issue when it comes into your inbox, then speed on back to your job or computer solitaire!

How can I get Blue Avocado? You can get our magazine in your email inbox twice a month, catch up on your Blue Avocado reading via an RSS feed, or just come visit us on the web.

Can I reprint a Blue Avocado article? All Blue Avocado content is reprintable free by nonprofits, as long we've granted written permission to reprint. In fact, we think of ourselves as the Blue Avocado Wire Service, and are delighted to see articles and issues forwarded electronically, put into print newsletters, handed out at board meetings and so on. We have a friendly reprint policy [3] and can usually approve your request within 24 hours. Submit your request to editor@blueavocado.org [4].

How is the website different from the email newsletter? It isn't really. It compiles newsletter articles organized by section (such as Board Cafe, Ask Rita, etc.), and you can see the Reader Comments there as well. Blue Avocado is mainly a magazine (like Cooking Light or Gourmet) rather than a library (like Oxford Encyclopedia of Food).

How can I send an article to someone else? In most articles, there's a button marked "email" right under the headline. Click there and you'll be asked where to forward the article, and allow you to include a personal message.

What's the most under-appreciated part of Blue Avocado? The Resource Directory - really great stuff there.

How can I get involved with Blue Avocado? Make a $20 donation (see button on right). Forward a Blue Avocado article to a friend. Send us an original article you'd like us to consider. Become a volunteer stringer and get story assignments. Make a comment on an article (you have to register to comment, but it's free too).
